ENDOCLEANER ‘ECÒ’ SOLUTION, containing EDTA 17%, effectively removes the smear layer because it forms complexes with bi and tri-valent metals. The surfactant action of the saponin augments the chelating effect of the EDTA in cleaning the root canal.
